Formal wear (US/Canada) and formal dress (UK) are the general terms for clothing suitable for formal social events, such as a wedding, formal garden party or dinner, débutante cotillion, dance, or race. The Western style of formal evening dress, characterized by black and white garments, has spread through many countries; it is almost always the standard formal social dress in countries without a formal national costume.
A dress code is a set of rules governing a certain combination of clothing; some examples are black tie and morning dress. Formal dress is the grouping of all the dress codes which govern clothes worn to formal events. The traditional rules that govern men's formal dress are strictly observed; from these derive the evening dress variants worn on many occasions, such as high school prom dances, formal dances, and entertainment industry award programs.

pattu sarees

MANGALAGIRI:
Mangalagiri in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh is famous for its special variety of saree, called Mangalagiri Saree. This saree, featuring tribal designs, is very much in demand in the fashion market.
Mangalagiri sarees, woven from cotton, feature borders with closely-knit patterns embroidered with ‘zari’ (gold-colored thread). Usually these patterns are minute checks or small simple frames. The ‘pallu’ (falling edge of saree) is embellished with stripes, a typical tribal style, created with gold-colored embroidery. These sarees come in a variety of rich colors.

VENKATAGIRI:
The simple and elegant opulence of Venkatgiri handlooms is apparent in their fine weave, lightweight softness and mostly understated geometric ornament. The yarn is a fine polished variety that yields a very shiney and smooth cloth

GADWAL:   The fabric of the silk borders is composed of tussar or mulberry silk. The cotton-body these days have resplendent shades, embellished often with silk checks. This fabulous mix of silk and cotton makes for the recent trend of sico saris, 50% cotton and 50% silk. Gadwals woven from pure silk is there, but not as popular as the Sico. They are the saris of expensive range.
